. . . . . . . . . . . .

Today's OED word of the day that was the basis for the erasure poem is 'tenter.'

. . . . . . . . . .

Today's OED word of the day for the erasure poem was 'pill.'

. . . . . . . . . .

On this remarkable 60° day, the OED word of the day for this erasure poem was 'zoned.'

tuesday 15 december

sprinkles —
even the word tastes happy
in your mouth

. . . . . . . . . .

This 'industrial strength' collection of every sprinkle color you could want is at the Sugar Rush Baking Co. Their mini cupcakes are too sweet for words.

monday 14 december

A place
itself alone, in
gloomy-mountain'd

woods.

Haven't you a fancy for that

. . . . . . . . . .

The OED word of the day is mere - the verb! That was a new one on me. In case you're curious: To mark out (land) as regards its boundaries.

Sunday, December 13, 2009

sunday 13 december

creaking wood floors —
the labyrinthine bookstore
busy too late

. . . . . . . . .

Today's Seattle Sketchcrawl was at Elliott Bay Book Co., one of no doubt many "tributes" to come, as it prepares to move out of Pioneer Square in March. Seattle book lovers warily await its reincarnation in an old Ford dealership on Capital Hill next spring.

What better place to sketch than the Travel Loft?

drawing jam --
jockeying for easel space
near the nude model

. . . . . . . . . .

Today was the 10th Annual Drawing Jam at Gage Academy. Last year 1,000 people came to draw, paint, sculpt and print with live models, music and food from 10am to 10pm. Had to have been at least that many today. It was a crazy scene!
