staying indoors

staying indoors
is a problem

to increase The day,
stay up at night
and Observe,
insists the
21st Century

. . . . . . . .

The OED word of the day for the erasure poem | commentary is 'hikikomori.'

Appropriately, Peggy and I sketched in the Japanese Garden today.
Mr. Sun made watercolor challenging, as the temperature seemed to vary plus or minus 20 degrees and the light - well, I don't know how to measure light, but suffice to say it went from sublime to ridiculous and back again in any given 10-minute period.

Hi, Susan,
The painting captures well the Japanese garden. The word, "hikikomori" surprised me. Psychological issue, but, when I researched it by internet, was found only in Japan.
Kind regards, Sadami

Thanks, Sadami. The Seattle Japanese Garden was designed by Juki Iida in 1960. I've heard people come from Japan to study his design. I don't feel I did it justice, but it's WONDERful.

I think the OED is the "OJD" this week; two Japanese words!! I read quite a long article about hikikomori in the American press a couple of years ago, so I knew what it was (unlike izakaya!!). Sad...

I like your results. Very graceful. Better sunny and cloudy than no sunny at all.
