The OED word of the day for the erasure commentary is 'palter' and even the Oxford lads can't figure out how we got this word for babble or mumble.

Wow! You did a lot more sketching in Portland than some of the Portlanders have done lately! I love the bridges; especially the collaged Steel Bridge. Very clever solution.

Thanks, Vicky. I certainly felt more inspired in Portland than I do in Seattle - I think this is officially "tourist sketching syndrome"!
