that which stands still stifles

Dolphins, Hilton Head Islandthat which stands still
stifles many Glories

The sloping Sun
To Ocean's Verge,
has run
in fluent intercourse
with this island

in the shadows
A fairy pool
of non-material things
flowing gracefully

I never dreamed of such delicate motion
a Hymn to the Earth

. . . . . . . .

The OED word of the day for the erasure poem is 'fluent,' a good description of a two-week old dolphin in Broad Creek at Hilton Head Island.

I wonder why seeing dolphins brings us such pleasure? It is such a surge of energy.
