empty berths

the sun sparkling
on the harbor —
empty berths

. . . . . . .

Cinco de Mayo and the OED word of the day is 'mash potato.' (eyes roll) Small wonder that there was no poem in that mealy - uh, measly - entry.

So, instead, a commentary on the inverse relationship between good weather and number of boats in the harbor to paint.

I miss going to the pier back in California. San Pedro is what this reminds me of. The fishy smell and the seagulls. :)

Glad I could assist in some sweet nostalgia, C. Here it's gulls AND Canadian geese!
